artist bio
Born in San Diego in 1984, Katie was raised most of her life in the small town of Santa Ynez, CA. From a young age she has always found expression through art and the creative process. In 2007 she received a Bachelor of Arts in Painting and Art History from the University of California, Santa Barbara. Katie's work has been shown in galleries throughout California.
“I try to capture the quiet energy contained in a space between happenings. There is always a sort of static energy in my work. I focus on places steeped in nostalgia and history that are still relevant today.”
Her most recent work focuses on nighttime pool scenes. She uses saturated colors and loose, vibrant under-paintings to heighten contrast and create mood.
Katie currently resides in Los Angeles, CA.
